The FYI seeks a skilled Major Gifts Officer with a strong desire to promote Muslim mental health and family wellness through development efforts. The Major Gifts Officer will work with our board members and staff leaders in cultivating relationships with key donors and ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead The FYI’s overall development program with a specific focus on major gifts program.
  • Participate in each step of the donor pipeline, including identification; qualification through research; cultivation; briefing; request for support; follow-up, stewardship, and recognition.
  • Grow relationships with major gift donors through direct solicitations, donor receptions, in person visits, and regular communication 
  • Developing and maintaining a donor database, and tracking communication and interactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor databases, tracking contributions, and interactions.
  • Lead private fundraising events, including logistics, coordination, and post-event follow up.
  • Reporting monthly to track and assess major gift fundraising metrics 
  • Collaborating with the marketing and communication team to create compelling materials communicating the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Additional duties as requested by the Executive Director

  • Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Familiarity with fundraising software and databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Development certification (CFRE) are preferred.
  • 5+ years of major planned giving experience, preferably within Muslim nonprofits.
  • Direct experience preparing proposals and conducting major gift solicitations required
  • Past history of successfully securing major gifts of $10K or more.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, evenings and limited overnight travel planned in advanced
  • Knowledge of the Muslim community funder landscape

  • Compensation commensurate with experience

This is a remote/flexible position in the United States

The FYI seeks a highly motivated and organized Development Associate – Digital with a strong desire to promote Muslim mental health and family wellness through development efforts. The Development Associate plays a critical role in the success of The FYI by designing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives. This position involves working closely with the major gifts officer, donors, and other stakeholders to ensure the organization’s financial sustainability. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns
  • Develop online fundraising content for website, social media, email, and broadcasts 
  • Ensure online and offline fundraising campaigns are integrated and digital channels are used effectively to retain and develop supporters.  
  • Monitor and report on digital fundraising campaigns.  
  • Assist in digital donor communication, acknowledgment, and recognition efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a donor database, tracking communication and interactions.
  • Support the Major gifts officer in reaching fundraising targets.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing fundraising strategies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communication team to create compelling materials communicating the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Work closely with other departments to gather information and ensure alignment between fundraising efforts and organizational goals.

Skills

  • Project management skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail
  • Proven experience working in email platforms, content management systems, CRM software, and social media
  • Understanding of A/B testing, funnel development, analytics tools, and the ability to turn metrics into actionable insights
  • A strong donor-friendly approach with excellent design, proofing, writing, and editing skills, including the ability to provide effective feedback to graphic designers on user interface, layout, and design 
  • Ability to excel in independent and team-based work and to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • At least 3+ years of experience
  • Digital non-profit fundraising experience working with Muslim American donors
